I am from cell phones, from perfect-figured, blonde, plastic Barbie dolls, and Nestle hot cocoa with marshmallows.
I am from the house with the creakiest floors, from the laughter of the craziest times, from the messiest toy room and the neatest living room, from fruit sitting on the counter, from the citrus of freshly squeezed orange juice, and from the house where the power of love is so much more than this.
I am from the tropical palm tree in the coldest place, the stem of the rose that stood tall during the storm.
I am from every family vacation at Disneyland for the past 15 years, and the strength to keep going, from Kathy and Howard and Kimmie.
I am from stay up until 2:00 in the morning and showing up 30 minutes late, insisting you were on time.
From "Go wash your hair" and "How much homework do you have?"
I am from atheism because my dad is a Methodist, and I think my mom has no religion, so I don't know what to do.
I am from the United States of America, China, & Hong Kong as owned by the British, from spaghetti&meatballs, and grilled salmon every Sunday.
I am from thinking it was always normal to go through that, from a regretted past, from pushing too hard, from two best friends, from a second home I'll never go back to, from living life to the fullest, and from finding who I am.

You know what's weird? Those things I know about myself that others don't know because I never talk about it... like I think it's normal since I've grown up with it forever.
1. that thing in my head
2. the busted capillary by my right eye. lmao.
3. i did hula/tahitian and love it with a passion.
4. i seriously think everyone is smart. no joke.
5. i hate grass & everything about it... even sitting in it
6. i have the reading comprehension of a first grader. & can never remember the events/characters in books for the life of me
7. i am ridiculously pale.
&Wanna know the weirdest thing about me?
I can walk anywhere barefoot & I don't mind. Except bathrooms, grass, and my own house.
Bathrooms because they're gross. Grass because I hate grass, like I said earlier, & alotta things about nature. And my house because I'm Asian and wear either slippers or thick socks around the house, haha.
So at the end of YouthLeader, we were asked to write a mission statement, and based on the rough guidelines of what they should be about, here's what I have written...
My mission statement:
I am a person of everylasting love and support for my friends and family. I am a person of justice and compassion for those who are in need. I am a person of courage to speak my voice and stand up for what I believe in. I am a person of change. I will be detemined to keep going and never give up. With the best of my ability, I live with the lessons of God and what He says is good. I live each day to all it can be and never stop to look and regret. It's life--live out & find a way to work it out. I trust those who deem themselves worthy and still respect those who wonder about who I am. I want to keep it simple so that my life can be stress free, so I can choose how and when I want it. I have a heart bigger than the world and want to use it to change the world for the better. I am a person still working on my life story--a story that can enver be described all in words. Because this is who I am and what I want to be. This is how I live my life for all it's worth. Because I won't pretend. This. Is. Me.
