News&more

U.S. news is stupid. All negative. Blows up problems way worse than they are. Which therefore causes everyone else in the country to freak out even more than they need to about a problem & causes even more tormoil. Which then gives the news more to talk about, which then makes the problem worse to people, which then gives the news even MORE to talk about...
Catch my drift? Don't listen to everything you hear in the news. Sure, it's true. But just remember, they make things a lot worse. Why can't we have news like in Canada? Where 7 million outta their 10 million people have guns in their houses, yet almost no one gets killed by guns. Where their version of breaking news is adding speed bumps to the road. I'm serious. (*Just on a note though, the stats were from a little after 1999. But still...) Do you ever wonder how America got this way? Thousands and thousands of shootings. Where our government has to debate whether or not to take away the Second Amendment because they can't trust people with them. Compare that to Canada, pleaseandthankyou. Where do you think Americans went wrong? Did it start in our past because we had bloody revolutions & civil war? Or is it because we see these horrible crimes in the news, and it influences us to be that way because we start to think it's not that bad? So if it's the second, then why can't the news start talking positive? Start showing the consequences of bad actions, not just the bad. Sure, the consequences, I guess, are for those bigger exposés like 60 Minutes or 20/20. But do you ever wonder- if the news did talk about such negative and horrible things all the time, would Americans become more trustworthy & respectable? However, if the news talked about the good, who would watch it, right? And if you even had to think of that question as a one-sided retort (because I know in debates that skilled people know to look at both sides), then I swear you are one of those people who need to hear only the bad because that's the only interesting thing. No one wants to hear about an activist group saving the baby otters, right? -_- &To make things worse, neighborhood shootings is only one example of how bad the news has gotten. Just think about gas prices and the decline of the economy. Don't get me started, haha.

New Year's Resolutions. Yeah, I don't make those things. Sure, I can say better time management, exercise more, blah blah blah. But I know I'm not gonna keep them anyway. After about the first week, I don't feel the inspiration to continue. Especially since I'm doing this instead of the crap load of homework I have! This year, though, it doesn't even feel like a new year.

Here's a random fact: "Prostitution has been observed in other nonhuman animal species, notably in adelie penguins and hangingflies."

Exploding from the insensitivity & relutance towards deepness&just plain opening up. You wonder why people do that all the time? Cause while you can try to be fair, sometimes it's just better to take their side for a while. Stop acting like it's never a big deal, because for them, it is.
